OK, so how do you remember to use GoodSearch and GoodShop? Here are some suggestions.

Five Ways to Use GoodSearch as Your Search Engine

1. Download the GoodSearch/GoodShop Toolbar to Your Browser (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and now customized specifically for Arts Access!)

Click the following link: Download the GoodSearch Toolbar. This will let you add a search toolbar to IE6 to IE8 plus FireFox. It's a good option if you aren't using IE with its built-in search bar, and it also offers a few other options, even if you are. If you install it, the toolbar can be removed or disabled at any time. Just click through the "Download" buttons, remembering to close other browser windows first. When you bring up your browser again, the GoodSearch toolbar will appear.

After you install it, you can use the Search field; but more importantly, anytime you want to shop online, please click the GoodShop, Amazon, or eBay icons, so that Arts Access will get "credit" for the sale. And here's the neat thing: even if you forget to use the toolbar, it can sometimes detect a shopping site and let you know how much Arts Access will receive.

2. Set the Default Internet Explorer 7/8 Search Engine to GoodSearch (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!)

Somewhere near the top of your browser, probably at the upper right, you should see a search box similar to the following. Click the down arrow on the right and select Find More Providers, as shown:
Follow the instructions in the Create Your Own box on the next page. Basically it asks you to perform a search (in a separate window) for the word TEST, then copy the resulting URL into the specified box, but you can just copy the following link (right click, Copy Shortcut) and paste it into the step 3 URL field: http://www.goodsearch.com/Search.aspx?Keywords=TEST.
Specify "GoodSearch" in the step 4 Name field and press Install.
In the next dialog box, click the selection box to make GoodSearch your default search provider and click Add Provider. From now on, any searches you perform from the search box on IE will use GoodSearch, and Arts Access will benefit!
You can always change back to a different search provider at any time, either temporarily or by default, by using the same pulldown menu shown in the first step above. (Choose the "Change Search Defaults" option.)

3. Start Your Searches via the GoodSearch Box on the Arts Access Home Page

You'll find the GoodSearch box right on the top of our main page. While this is a valid option to support us, we hope you will use other options on this page to capture more of your search requests. NOTE: You can also use the search box on our main page to restrict your search to just our website. That doesn't generate any earnings for us, but it might be useful to you!

4. Make GoodSearch your Home Page

Go to GoodSearch (www.goodsearch.com) with your browser.
Select Tools, Internet Options.
In the space where a Home Page is selected, click Use Current, or type the GoodSearch URL.

Instructions for your particular browser may vary but should be somewhat similar. If you do this, anytime you want to do a search, simply click your Home Page icon on your browser.

5. Create Your Own Link to GoodSearch

If you want to add a link to your browser's LINKS toolbar, or you want to put a link anywhere else, use this coding:

For example, to add GoodSearch to your Internet Explorer Links toolbar, click the URL above, then drag the icon at the start of the browser address bar to anywhere on your Links bar and release the mouse. The resulting name will appear in the Links bar, but it will be too long. Simply right-click the name with your mouse and select Rename to shorten it to GoodSearch.
