Betsy has been with Arts Access for 5 years, originally hired as Program Director. She has a BA in Social Work from Salem College, a MS in Therapeutic Recreation from UNC- Chapel Hill and Course Work in Arts Administration from NYU. She has worked as a Social Worker, Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Inclusion Specialist/Trainer, and Program Administrator for Group Homes, Day Programs, Hospitals, Public Schools and Community Non-Profits.
Jennifer Marshburn - Program Coordinator
Jennifer has come to Arts Access, after a career in special education. She spent 5 years as a teacher's assistant in a variety of special education assignments, before taking a licensed teaching position in a classroom for children with autism. Her desire to continue to serve individuals with disabilities, as well as her love for art, motivate her every day to help improve the opportunities for accessible arts in North Carolina.
Arts Access is committed to representing the disability and arts communities through its leadership. The board includes a diverse mixture of individuals with disabilities, who have family members with disabilities, or are members of the arts community.
