Artist Link Project: For Artist with Disabilities
This group is open to all North Carolinian artists 18+ with disabilities: d/Deaf; Neurodivergent; Blind or low vision; people with chronic illnesses, psychosocial, intellectual, developmental, learning, and/or physical disabilities; and more. All forms of artmaking (including visual art and design, performing art, literary art, and traditional craft, etc.) are welcome, and your work does not need to be about disability.
During our meetings we share ideas, inspiration, and new works of art. Occasionally we have guest artists and speakers! It is an amazing opportunity to engage with other disabled artists in a positive, fun and motivational environment!
The Artist Link Project (ALP) membership currently includes:
- Promotion in our public directory (optional)
- Email group to share opportunities and promote events
- Free professional development workshops
- Micro-funds for supplies, application fees, and more (when available)
- Free virtual disabled artist monthly discussion group
Want to learn more? Check out our informational slides here!
The Artist Link Project is free to join and meets the second Thursday of every month at 7pm on Zoom.
Group meetings are relaxed and conducted over Zoom, in spoken English, with Audio Description and plain language practiced by all members (we’ll teach you if you don’t know how!). We will work to provide any requested accommodations to participate such as ASL, Spanish, or other language interpretation, captions/CART. We ask for one week’s notice in order to guarantee interpreters and transcription but we will do our best if the request comes later.
