Public Art Call: Cottages of Idlewild

Artspace, in partnership with Raleigh Area Land Trust (RALT) invites artists to submit proposals for a public outdoor art installation in the Idlewild neighborhood of Raleigh, North Carolina. The selected artist will create a site-responsive public artwork that reflects themes identified by the community, including: Family and intergenerational connection, African American homeownership, Black history and cultural legacy and community resilience and belonging. To be eligible artists must be based in North Carolina, have demonstrated experience working with BIPOC and historically Black communities and have the ability to collaborate with the community. Project Budget: $20,000 (includes artist fee, design, materials, fabrication, community engagement activities, and installation). Applications are due April 8. Mallarmé 2026 Dynamic Duo Talent Search

Mallarmé Music, Durham’s homegrown chamber music organization, is inviting applications for our Dynamic Duo program, a series of short concerts to be presented live. Performances will be scheduled for the the summer or fall 2026 beginning in June in or around Durham, NC. ArtsMarket Southeast Showcase

ArtsMarket Southeast, a regional performing arts showcase conference organized by the North Carolina Presenters Consortium (NCPC), returns November 2–4, 2026 to downtown Durham, NC, where selected showcase artists will take the stage at the historic Carolina Theatre of Durham. Who should apply? If you’re a tour-ready professional performer in any discipline — music, dance, theatre, comedy, magic, educational/children’s, variety, or spoken word — this is your chance to get in front of the talent buyers who book seasons across the region. Durham Arts Council 2027-2028 Exhibition Application Open

The Durham Arts Council will be accepting proposals for the 2027-2028 exhibition season, offering artists the opportunity to showcase their work. Selected artists will present solo or group exhibitions in DAC’s galleries inside the historic Durham Arts Council building, sharing their creative vision with thousands of visitors who attend exhibitions, performances, classes, and events throughout the year.

DAC galleries highlight a wide range of artistic voices, mediums, and perspectives, reflecting the dynamic creative community of the Triangle region. Artists working in visual 2D art mediums are encouraged to apply. Submissions are reviewed through a juried process, and selected artists are typically given an entire gallery space to present their work. An online info-session to go over the application with Artist Services Manager, Colleen Scott, will be hosted on Tuesday, March 31 at 6PM EST. To register, email cscott@durhamarts.org.

Public Art Call: Pullen Center 2027

The City of Raleigh’s Pullen Arts Center is seeking submissions for the 2027 Exhibition Program. The 2027 exhibitions at Pullen Arts Center will be themed group shows consisting of 3-5 artists. The themes are: Metamorphosis: studies in change (February – April 2027) Awake and Aware: our senses as a guide (May – July 2027) The Ways We Remember: rituals, stories, memorials (August – October 2027).

Artists working in any medium are encouraged to apply. This could include works in progress, collaborative projects, book and print arts, ceramics, drawing and painting, fibers, glass, and metal arts. Must be 18+ years of age. Artists residing in the City of Raleigh are prioritized, however artists working across the Piedmont region are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply is May 31, 2026. From Artist to Teaching Artist Free Workshop

Teaching Artist Connect is hosting a free, one-day workshop for artists interested in learning about the field of Teaching Artistry. In this fun and intensive one-day, in-person workshop, artists of all disciplines are invited to explore the nuts and bolts of Teaching Artistry. To include: teaching strategies, creative engagement, communication, marketing, and partnership building. Digital resources will be provided at the end of the training.  This workshop will take place on Saturday May 9, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Alamance Arts, 213 S Main St, Graham, NC 27253. Residencies 

Artspace’s Universal Artist Residency Application Deadline has been extended to April 7, 2026

The Universal Access Artist Residency is for artists who identify as having a disability. This month-long residency in Raleigh provides funding, studio space, and professional support for a national artist to produce a solo exhibition immediately following the residency at Artspace. During the residency the artist works in the gallery where the work will be exhibited. It includes a stipend of $2500. Residency dates are June 1-30, 2026. Applying is free. 

 

New Raleigh Inaugural Poet Laureate Program

The City of Raleigh’s new Poet Laureate Program will connect residents through storytelling, creativity, and community. They are seeking a poet to serve as a citywide ambassador to lead workshops, create new work, and inspire voices across all ages.  The Raleigh Poet Laureate will serve a two-year term and receive an honorarium of $20,000 to support the commissioning of new poems, the creation of a public program series. ARTS Day Scholarships Available for Artists, Students and Educators

Scholarships are available for ARTS Day, North Carolina’s Annual Conference of Art & Action. Scholarships. Independent artists, arts educators, and students are sponsored through the generosity of the Robert & Mercedes Eichholz Foundation. CEU Credits will be available on all live ARTS Day sessions. The Scholarship Request period 2026 will open on March 4 and will close on April 26. Scholarships cover the cost of a 2-day full conference ticket. Travel expenses are not included. Studio Space

Artspace Studio Space Applications Are Open

Artspace’s studios in Raleigh are ideal for visual artists who are committed to experimentation and innovation in their work, seeking artistic and professional development, and to being a part of and contributing to a dynamic community of artists and creative thinkers. Artists are expected to work 15-20 hours a week in their studio during public hours. Studios range from 182 to 530 square feet. Monthly rents range from $250-700 on average. Studio leases last 1 year and may be renewed up to 4 times for a maximum term of 5 years. Application is free. The deadline is April 3, 2026Learn more about studio rentals
