The Justice Theater Project
The Justice Theater Project is hosting auditions for their 2026-2027 Season: “Outside the Lines.” The plays include The Courtroom: A Reenactment of One Woman’s Deportation Proceedings ; Continuity ; The African Company Presents Richard III; Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde; and Head Over Heels. The Justice Theater Project welcomes and encourages qualified performers of all races, ethnicities, body types, abilities, religious affiliations, sexual orientations, *ages, and genders to audition for shows. *Actors under 18 must have written permission from guardians. Sips & Scripts
On the First Monday of each month, at 6 p.m., playwrights and actors get together to put on six play readings. Playwrights sign up to present their plays and actors perform cold reading to get cast. The site alternates between PlayMakers Repertory Theatre at UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State University’s Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre. Find out more on the Sips & Scripts page.

Artspace’s FRESH exhibition
FRESH is Artspace’s biennial open survey exhibition and juried competition featuring new work by North Carolina artists. The exhibition demystifies the juried exhibition process while providing artists from across the state an opportunity to exhibit their work alongside both established and emerging artists. The deadline to submit is Friday, August 7, 2026. Entry fee ranges from $25 to $35. Cash awards range from $250 to $1,000. Learn more about FRESH

Triangle Artwork May Happy Hour
Get out of the studio, office or stage and mingle with artists and arts administrators from across the Triangle. Anyone who works in the arts in the Triangle – artists of all disciplines, arts administrators, and employees of arts-based businesses is welcome. The happy hour is September 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at The Plant in Pittsboro, 220 Lorax Lane, Pittsboro. The Plant is a biodynamic farm, music venue, restaurants, maker spaces, artist studios and event space. Learn more about the happy hour.
